FAQ

All the answers about Liwa

Product, pricing, security, BNI specifics and use for other organizations: the questions we are asked most often.

Product

How Liwa works day to day, at the welcome desk and on the member side.

How does tablet signing work?+

A tablet is placed at the welcome desk of the meeting. Every member, substitute or guest signs with a finger directly on the screen, and the signature is saved immediately in Liwa, linked to their name and to the current meeting.

Do I need to install an app?+

No. Liwa runs in a web browser, on a tablet as on a computer. There is nothing to install, neither for the organizer nor for members or guests.

How long does it take to set up for the first meeting?+

A few minutes. You create your account, import or enter the list of members, and you are ready to open your first meeting, even for a group that is just starting.

Is the attendance PDF sent automatically after each meeting?+

Yes. When the meeting is closed, Liwa generates the PDF with all the signatures visible and emails it as an attachment, with no extra action on your side.

Can I import an existing list of members?+

Yes, through an Excel import. You drop your file and Liwa creates the member records automatically, with no manual re-typing one by one.

Which type of tablet does Liwa run on?+

Any recent tablet with an up-to-date browser (iPad, Android tablet, Chromebook) works. There is no specific hardware to buy.

Pricing

The plans, the free trial and the subscription terms.

Which plans are available?+

Three plans: Starter at €19/month for one group, Regional at €49/month for up to 6 groups, and Franchise at €99/month for unlimited groups (fair use as set out in our terms of sale). Each plan includes all the features of the previous one.

Does the free trial require a credit card?+

Yes, you add your card when you sign up. Nothing is charged before the 14 days are over, and you can cancel at any time.

Can I change plan along the way?+

Yes, at any time from the Stripe customer portal. The change is prorated, with no email to send to anyone.

How does the referral program work?+

You refer another group, they get 15% off their subscription, and you earn a 15% recurring commission for as long as they remain a customer.

Can I cancel whenever I want?+

Yes, with no minimum term. You cancel from the customer portal, and your access stays active until the end of the period already paid.

What does "unlimited groups" mean on the Franchise plan?+

A Regional Director or a franchise can add as many groups as needed under this plan, within the fair use defined in our terms of sale.

Security and GDPR

Data hosting, authentication and compliance.

Where is the data hosted?+

The data is hosted by Supabase (database) and Hostinger (application server). Their management and administration are handled from France by StarterLab, which remains your single point of contact. Any transfers outside the European Union are covered by the GDPR (EU–US data protection framework or standard contractual clauses).

Does Liwa offer two-factor authentication (2FA)?+

Yes, 2FA is available to secure administrator access, on top of the classic email and password sign-in.

Who has access to the members' data?+

Only the group administrators you designate have access to the member list and the attendance history. A co-administrator can be added on the Franchise plan.

How do I sign in, email/password or Google/Microsoft?+

Both are possible. Liwa offers the classic email and password sign-in as well as OAuth authentication through Google or Microsoft, at the choice of each administrator.

What happens if we cancel, is the data deleted?+

Your data stays accessible until the end of the period already paid, then is handled in line with our privacy policy and the GDPR. Contact support if you need an export before cancelling.

Is Liwa GDPR compliant?+

Yes. Data collection is limited to what is necessary to manage attendance, the data is hosted with recognized providers and managed from France by StarterLab, and the rights of access, rectification and erasure provided by the GDPR are respected.

BNI

Questions specific to BNI chapters, which use their own vocabulary (chapter, bizouk, big table...).

Does Liwa completely replace BNI Connect?+

No, Liwa complements BNI Connect by automating the guest import and handling the signature and the attendance PDF, two things BNI Connect does not do.

Is the generated PDF accepted by BNI?+

The PDF follows the format expected by BNI standards, with all the signatures visible and time-stamped.

How does bizouk tracking work with Liwa?+

Each guest has a clear status: pending, paid, exempt or already called. This tracking is visible at a glance before the big table, without pulling out a separate spreadsheet.

Can a Regional Director manage several groups?+

Yes, the Franchise plan lets you switch between several chapters from the same account, with an automatic email import of guests for each one.

Do BNI Connect guests arrive in Liwa automatically?+

On the Franchise plan, yes: guests registered on BNI Connect arrive directly in your list, with no manual re-typing.

Does it work for a chapter that has just started?+

Yes, setup takes a few minutes, even for a chapter holding its very first meeting.

Other organizations

Liwa is not reserved for BNI chapters: service clubs, Junior Chambers, associations and training organizations use it too.

Does Liwa work for a Rotary club?+

Yes. Liwa tracks the attendance and makeups of a Rotary club with no sheet going around at every meeting, using the same touch signature system.

And for a Junior Chamber (JCI)?+

Yes, Liwa handles the tracking of active members and guests of a Junior Chamber, useful to prepare activity reports without re-typing.

Does Liwa suit a regular association?+

Yes. For an association with regular meetings, Liwa provides a reliable record of attendance, useful to justify a quorum or a grant application.

Can a training organization use Liwa?+

Yes, touch-signature sign-in meets the requirements of continuing education funding bodies, including morning and afternoon tracking.

Is the vocabulary (bizouk, chapter...) specific to BNI?+

Yes, these terms come from the way BNI works. Other networks (Rotary, Junior Chambers, associations, training organizations) use Liwa in the same way, with their own usual vocabulary.

Can Liwa be customized for a network that is not BNI?+

The core of Liwa (signature, PDF, history, statistics) adapts to any type of recurring meeting. Some BNI Connect features remain specific to BNI chapters, the rest works for everyone.

Another question?

The Liwa team replies by email, usually the same day.
